Walkthrough for
Devo: Adventures of the Smart Patrol

OM (Osso Bucco Myelitis):

Stage One: Symptoms controlled with pills bought at Golden Oasis Retirement
Home. 1 pill every two hours. Taking less or taking more than the
recommended dosage will result in a "fit".

Stage Two: You'll need to purchase a Universal Walker at Golden Oasis. You
won't be able to go up or down stairs. Navigation accompanied by a servo
mechanism sound.

Stage Three: That's it. You spend the rest of the game in Golden Oasis
watching some very annoying TV.

OM is acquired one stage at a time by being slimed by Turkey Monkey or hit
by a Bucco Gun.

Spudgun:

If you shoot it at friendlies (Smart Patrol, Lifeforms Personnel, etc.),
you won't be able to get into their locations for 2 hours.

If you shoot unfriendlies (Rod Rooter, the Kalimbas, etc.), you're locked
out of Big Media up to Hour 06.

Shooting Mr. Ploppy locks you out of his Donut shop until Hour 09.

Shooting other characters warrants an Hour Warning only.

Successfully shooting Turkey Monkey will cause you to be dragged to a
location at random in the next hour.

Devo Rules:
You can pick up the Devo Rules at the following Hour/Locations:

Big Media Hour Ol
General Boy's Hour 02
Rod Rooter's Estate Hour 03
Club Devo Hour 05, Hour 07

You can play the tape you acquire at Big Media in Hour 01 in the VCR at
General Boy's House or Smart Patrol Headquarters.
See Smart Patrol Headquarters Hours 06, 09, 10, and 12 for more details on
getting a rule the easy way.

You acquire a rule by watching a Devo music video. You will need all five
rules to access the My Struggle Gallery.

Traveling:

If you travel with a Smart Patroller, your Spudmobile will be unavailable
until the following Hour.
If you net Turkey Monkey, your Spudmobile will be unavailable until the
following Hour.
If you travel to a location using the My Struggle Gallery, your Spudmobile
is available to you in that Hour.
Traveling through the My Struggle Gallery lets you move back in time to
any previous hour, and forward in time to any Hour you've already visited.
It cures you of OM but resets your inventory to the state it was in the
hour to which you're traveling.

Track and Endings:
Track refers to which narrative path you are on based on certain actions
you have taken during the game.

Track A: Get all five Devo Rules. Buy Donuts. Enter Club Devo in Hour 08
using the My Struggle Gallery. Shoot the Kalimba with the camera with
your Spudgun. Go to Lifeforms Unlimited in Hour 09 and place the donuts
in the Mutator to lure Turkey Monkey inside. You are now on Track A.

Track B: To be on Track B. all you must do is fail to stop the Kalimbas
at Club Devo in Hour 08. Track B is the nasty path. Pilgrims armed with
Bucco Guns will now be on patrol at the friendlier hangouts. No opportunity
exists to lure Turkey Monkey back to the Mutator.

Track C: To be on Track C, you must have succeeded at stopping the
Kalimbas at Club Devo in Hour 08, but failed to put the donuts in the
Mutator in Hour 09. The scientists at Lifeforms will still figure out a
way to lure back Turkey Monkey, but you won't get to witness the results
of Jeremy's cure.

Lose Endings: You will receive a lose ending if you are on Track B or C.
Mrs. Rothwell will inform you that you haven't figured out "The Story" yet
and offers you an opportunity to repeat.

Win Ending: You will receive this if you are on Track A. You will witness
the climactic scene with General Boy, Mrs. Rothwell, Boogie Boy, and Jeremy.

SMART PATROL HEADQUARTERS
Things you can usually do in Smart Patrol Headquarters:

Enter the building
At the monitor, call up Boogie Boy to give you a clue to the password
(should happen only once)
Enter Spud at the monitor
Click on the artwork on the walls
If you have all five Devo Rules, click on an opened picture to be
transported to the My Struggle Gallery.
Play the videotape (if you have it) in the tape machine and collect a
Devo Rule
Open the Mutual Release Cone, Click inside, Exit Cone
Click on one of the available CCS Pods and take a nap
Open and close the shutters by clicking on the Devo lamp
Look at the diagnostic of the Spudmobile
Explore for up to one minute. If you don't interact with a character, you
will get the Hour Warning.
Click forward (cursor is a steering wheel) to go back to Spudmobile OR
Arrive in the next Hour at Smart Patrol Headquarters.

HOUR 01

1. Wake up Jamie by clicking on the flashing light.
2. Click on him again to get a close-up
3. Watch Jeremy Wake up.
4. Click on Jeremy to get a close-up
5. Watch Max wake up.
6. Click on Max to travel with him to Golden Oasis in Hour 02
OR
7. Watch Tanya wake up.
8. Click on Tanya to travel with her to Lifeforms unlimited in Hour 02
OR
9. Watch Grady wake up
10. Click on Grady to travel with him to General Boy's in Hour 02 OR
11. Receive the Hour Warning

HOUR 02
1. Click on Jeremy or Jamie as they work on the computer
2. Answer the Spudfinder
OR
3. Allow Jeremy to answer the Spudfinder
4. Get the Warning about the Shutters
5. Watch Jeremy and Jamie Exit
OR
6. Click on Jamie or Jeremy to be told they're going together
7. Receive the Hour Warning

HOUR 03
1. Watch Grady talk to Boogie Boy and answer his Spudfinder
2. Turn up the volume by clicking where Grady points
OR
3. Eavesdrop on Grady's conversation
4. Grady turns down volume if turned up
5. And asks you to keep an eye on Boogie
6. Click on Grady as he exits to be told he's going alone
7. OR
8. Grady asks you to keep an eye on Boogie
9. And turns up the volume if turned down
10. Click on Grady as he exits to be told he's going alone
11. Receive the Hour Warning

HOUR 04
1. Talk to Jeremy and Eva in the Mutual Release Cone
2. Talk to General Boy when he calls on the Spudfinder

3. Let Jeremy answer the Spudfinder and listen in
4. Click on Jamie as he exits HQ to Arrive at Club Devo in Hour 05
5. Receive the Hour Warning

HOUR 05
1. Click on Boogie Boy who has a conversation with Donut
2. See General Boy enter
3. Be told "On The Double"

4. If you were caught at General Boy's House looking at his computer, be
accused of being a spy
5. Watch General Boy and Boogie Boy exit
6. Wake up Jeremy
7. Click on Jeremy as he exits to arrive at Big Media in Hour 06
8. Receive the Hour Warning

HOUR 06
1. Read "In The Beginning Was The End" at the main computer
2. Read "Jocko Homo" at the main computer
3. Get a clue on how to acquire a Devo Rule at the main computer
4. Click on the Devolution sign, watch a video, collect a rule
