II. THE LOST TREASURE THAT IS RAPTOR
#############################################################################
"Raptor? What the hell is Raptor?"
Is that your question? I'm sorry- that sucks for you, because you missed out on one hell of a game. I was lucky enough to pick up a free copy when I was a kid
(It probably wasn't good for me, being 6, but hey!)
Raptor is quite simple- It's an upward scroller in which you kill EVERYTHING that you see. Nothing else to it- you fly and kill.
If you can snag yourself a copy, you're in luck! Not only do you get to own this gem, but I'm here to help you through it (assuming you aren't a grandmaster pilot who can easily navigate the game.)

III. THE LEVELS
#############################################################################
Raptor is composed of twenty-seven levels: Nine levels in three sectors. The first sector is known as the bravo sector (interestingly, bravo means assassin.
Bet ya didn't know that, huh?), the second section is the tango sector (A tango is a type of dance... no, I don't get it either) and the final section is known as the Outer Region (Mysterious! OOOOH.... Yea)
Bravo Sector is basically your warmup round; basic stuff that any kid should be able to handle. Tango Sector is where things get a bit messier, although a seasoned gamer can handle it. Then you get to the outer region and your mettle is truly tested. The best? Yea, they can do it. Just don't get disappointed if it takes a while.
Each of the sectors has 8 levels, and each level has a boss. The Ninth level is the culmination of the previous eight, and the boss of said ninth level is far more difficult than the previous eight. See, he's not just the boss of a level, he's the boss of an entire SECTOR. Big deal, you know?

IV. THE ITEMS
#############################################################################
There are several items in this game, so I'll list them and explain, as well as telling you where to pick them up, as many items can be obtained within the game itself, saving you some time.
The following weapons will always be equipped no matter what:
Twin Machine Gun
Plasma Cannon
Micro Missile
This means they can all be used in conjunction to wreak utter havoc. As for the rest of your weapons, you'll need to toggle between them to suit your purposes.
Twin Machine Guns
They're your starting weapon. They fire constantly, and its a fairly dependable weapon. They hit air AND ground, so they'll serve you well.
They cost $12000 if you should choose to sell them and buy another set later on.
Megabombs
A nuclear weapon that does some tremendous damage, they're quite useful against bosses. However, you get enough free ones to make buying them pretty pointless.
They cost $32,250 per bomb, and you can have 5 on you at a time.
They're found all over the place:
One in Bravo level 4
Two in Bravo level 6
Two in Bravo level 7
Three in Final Bravo level
Two in Tango level 2
One in Tango level 3
Two in Tango level 4
Two in Tango level 6
One in Tango level 7
Two in Final Tango level
One in Outer level 1
One in Outer level 2
Two in Outer level 4
One in Outer level 5
One in Outer level 6
One in Outer level 7
One in Outer level 8
Two in Final Outer level
That's a total of 28 bombs found! Enough for one on EVERY boss, with one left over. Yea... don't buy them!
Energy Module
Your ship runs on energy, and the energy modules replenish your energy.
In laymens terms, you have 100 HP, and this thing restores 25 HP. Use them if you must.
It's $10,000 per shot.
They're found quite often as well:
One in Bravo level 1
One in Bravo level 2
One in Bravo level 3
One in Bravo level 4
One in Bravo level 5
Two in Bravo level 8
One in Final Bravo level
One in Tango level 1
One in Tango level 2
One in Tango level 3
One in Tango level 5
One in Tango level 8
One in Outer level 1
One in Outer level 2
One in Outer level 4
One in Outer level 5
One in Outer level 8
Two in Final Outer level
Ion Scanner
It gives you the boss's HP. If you need to know how badly you're messing up, you should probably buy this. However, honestly... you shoot until he dies. Why should you care about their health?
They're $10,000 apiece.
If you want it, you hafta buy it from the store- no freebies here.
Air to Air Missile
How do you explain it more than the title does? They fire straight ahead, killing the flying guys in front of you. If you're not dealing with ground much early on, you can use these babies. They're $63,500.
They're found a few times:
One in Bravo level 1
One in Tango level 1
One in Tango level 7
One in Outer level 2
Plasma Cannon
A fairly powerful cannon that slowly pulses plasma. Combined with your machine guns, it's a fairly durable setup. However, there's really no reason to use it.
$78,800 for this cannon. Doesn't appear anywhere, either. If you want it, that's your call.
Phase Shield
Beyond your energy module are the phase shields, which are like failsafes. When you have a phase shield, you take damage from that instead of your normal health. YOU WANT TO HAVE THESE. You can have 5 on you at any time.
They're sold at the store for $78,500, and they're found a few times:
One in Tango level 4
One in Tango level 6
One in Tango level 8
One in Outer level 3
Bombs
The polls are in... DON'T GET IT. It drops bombs, slowly. They're not anywhere near good enough to merit the money, and it costs $98,200. Fortunately they never appear, so you can simply forget all about them.
Air to Ground Missile
Just like the Air to Air missiles, they're good at what they do. You need tons of buildings or boats destroyed? This is how to do it. You get them free- use them until you have something better, but don't buy 'em. $110,000 for a set.
They're found:
One in Bravo level 3
One in Tango level 5
One in Outer level 1
Dumbfire Missiles
If you know missiles at are, these are your typical dumb missiles. You fire them and they basically just drop. They hit air and ground and just float sort of aimlessly around you. They're OK, but not worth any money to you.
$145,200 for it, and it's found:
One in Bravo level 6
One in Tango level 8
One in Outer level 3
Micro Missiles
These are more powerful versions of your machine gun, but for some reason they cannot hit buildings. I dunno, these missiles are infrared, maybe, although how they can hit boats... Well, whatever; they're good for killing other enemies.
They're $175,600 apiece, and you cannot find them anywhere.
Missile Pod
Like the Air to Air missiles, they fire upon the enemy flying craft. To sum it up, this is a souped up version of the Air to Air missiles, so naturally you should never use the Air to Air missiles once you buy this.
It's $204,950 to buy, and it can be found once:
One in Outer level 7
Auto-Track Mini-Gun
Put a heat-seeking function onto your machine guns and you have this. Of course, that's a bit of a shame when it's firing on things you don't like, and it can miss, especially on enemies farther away. Still... Grab one; it's great early.
It's $250,650, and it cannot be found.
Power Disruptor
A weak weapon that mucks up the enemies, stopping them from attacking. The problem? By the time you hit them, they're probably already attacked you. I do not know what the hell these guys were thinking when they put this weapon in.
It's weak and serves no purpose.
It's $300,750 and you cannot pick it up. Just ignore it.
Laser Turret
A seeking laser cannon, it hits other air targets and DESTROYS them. When you feel like being lazy (or you're not up to being able to afford the twin lasers yet), strap this thing on for some real fun. It'll set you back $512,850.
Pulse Cannon
It... pulses. Imagine your plasma cannon, now picture it actually doing good damage. A-HA! We have the pulse cannon. It's an ol' reliable and it will quickly grow on you, if you don't mind shelling out $725,000 for it.
Deathray
Slow attack speed, tremendous firepower. It will wipe out anything it hits in
