To play as the alternate version of some characters, hold down
"Start" while selecting the secret character's normal counterpart.

-----SECRET STAGES-----
Similar to the characters, some stages even have their own special versions. Just hold down "Start" while selecting certain stages.
-----EXTRA SURVIVAL MODE-----
Hold down "Start" and press "A" over Survival Mode. To do this you may have to beat it once normally first. You will know if you are in the alternate survival mode if you fight characters alone instead of as teams.
-----EARNING THE "VISUALS"-----
Through fighting you can earn points with which you can view "Visuals" which are just a series of pictures. This option can be found under
"Neo Geo Pocket", just go to upload and select Point Plus to get credit for your points you have earned. Then, go to download and you can look at the different pictures you have enough points to view.
Note the following. Each character can only get 100 points max. In other words, to get every picture, you must master all the characters.
The following is not set in stone, but this is what I THINK is the number of points you get for various things:
Win - 1 point
DM Finish - 1 point
Perfect - 3 points
Beat Omega Rugal - 5 points
Under 10 Seconds - 20 points
The Rugal one I am *really* unsure about, but when I got a perfect with
a DM finish on him with Orochi Yashiro I suddenly had 10 points, instead of the 5 I would normally earn from that. Again I will say it though, these numbers may not be correct. There is a page that gives the numbers on SNK Japan's site, and that is where I got the under 10 seconds one, but I may have mistranslated. I will test it out before the next update.
-----EASY WAY TO GET THE VISUALS-----
Not really a secret, but something worth mentioning. The amount of points you get in no way relies upon the game's settings. In other words you can turn your Power Meter to MAX, the difficulty to easy, and then rack up the points with no problems whatsoever! ;)

Well, I don't have the NGP-DC Link Cable personally, but I thought I would go ahead and lay out the relation between R-2 and '99 based on what various friends have told me.
Right off let me say, it seems to be commonly thought you can upload your Making Mode character from R-2... well you can not. Sucks doesn't it?
The only thing that you can do via the link is upload points from R-2 to get the visuals...
Frankly, I have no idea why SNK would include something as worthless as this for something they have hyped as much as the NGP-DC relationship.
