Most often, this happens because game trainers (and other game related tools) use already written libraries to access a game's internal memory or to give players the abbility to enable or disable a trainer feature from within the game.
Such libraries use poorly documented or sensitive functions of the operating system to accomplish their task, functions which are also used by real computer viruses for completely different reasons.
A very good example of a "false positive" that you may experience by downloading files on this website is "H@tkeysh@@k.dll", a library used by game trainers to read keystrokes from within games and enable a trainer feature when a certain key combination is performed.
In very rare cases, this library is also used by keylogging software, commercial software for parents who wish to monitor what their kids talk through messaging programs or trojan viruses.

Game trainers use various tehniques to change the way games work, tehniques that are only available on older operating operating systems such as Windows 98 or Windows XP but not Windows Vista, or will work only on 32bit operating systems and may cause problems if ran on modern operating systems.
We strongly advice anyone to back up all the information and close any other important programs and documents while running game trainers.
